Memories of WWII

WWII also hit the Peel. The area served as a transit area for aircraft between England and Germany. Many pilots and their passengers died in the Peel. Hence the name Death Valley. You can follow a cycle route network that will take you through all these events.

Knights and Witches

On the Kasteellaan in Heusden (14 km) lies the more than 600 year old Castle Asten. This castle is now in ruins, but evokes a turbulent past of mining, wars and witch hunts. You can take an idyllic walk around the castle.
